SHIRLEY LI
Acupuncturist
Shirley Li is a CA board certified licensed acupuncturist who earned her Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is where she developed her acupuncture skills while working as an intern at the school’s busy community clinic. As a TCM practitioner, she takes the holistic approach to healing by stimulating and promoting the body’s natural self-healing processes and by restoring harmonious flow of its inherent energy to bring the body back to a healthy balanced state. With each patient, she tailors a custom treatment plan for his/her unique needs and constitution. The customized treatment plans are designed to address both symptoms and the underlying cause. Aside from acupuncture, she may also incorporate other modalities such as fire cupping, electro-stimulation, moxibustion, manual therapy, and herbal medicine in her treatments. Being of Chinese descent, Shirley grew up with the influence of Chinese medicine and has benefited from its preventative health aspect of using both herbs and food as medicine. She is also an avid foodie and has a B.S. Degree in food science from U.C. Davis. Prior to starting her own practice, she worked as an associate acupuncturist at a private wellness clinic and at Being Alive Nonprofit Organization’s community clinic treating HIV-positive patients.
