MELIA FLAGG, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Melia Flagg, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist with her doctorate from USC. She comes to Bodyscape with a background in both orthopedic and neurological conditions, and enjoys working with all her patients to improve their physical lives and alleviate their pain. Melia has an undergraduate background in biology, anthropology, and creative non-fiction writing. She is passionate in upstanding how we as humans and our human culture relate to the world around us, and she wished to pursue research work in this regard. She changed her path after her experience with a lower back injury. Through physical therapy and her own committed yoga practice, she found her way through the injury, and emerged with a newfound awareness of how the physical body is the primary means by which we connect and interact with the world around us, and how essential it's wellbeing is to many aspects of our lives. She decided to pursue physical therapy as a career in order to help others improve their abilities to interact physically within their worlds and to give her patients the tools they need in order feel a greater sense of empowerment.
Melia is also a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher. She has a strong interest in how movement practices such as yoga, tai chi, and others, can effect, and improve, neuromuscular control. In her free time Melia enjoys being outside, exploring the natural world, painting, drawing, and writing. |
