Since Bodyscape’s owner, Leslie Frank, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1997 she’s been devoted to improving her patient’s lives with consistent positive reinforcement and “you can do it” attitude. Leslie had a rapid decline her first year after diagnosis, and she knew she had to turn her life around. With consistent daily focused training, she was able to go on a backpack 6 months later and nothing has stopped her since. She even hiked the John Muir Trail solo a few years ago.
Without knowing it at the time, she was doing “forced use” training. This means she made herself do what was most difficult daily, making it incrementally more difficult. Now forced use training is regularly done with patients who have neurological conditions such as stroke and MS.
Leslie is a strong believer in meeting each patient’s MS symptoms with a Can Do attitude, and you can experience this when you come to Bodyscape!
